Caramel Apple Cheesecake Bars and Streutal


Ladies,

This recipe is soooooooooo good, I found it on the What's Cooking section on the Nest, decided to try it out and OH. MY. GOODNESS!!!


2 cups all-purpose flour


1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar


2 sticks of butter (soften)


2 packages of cream cheese (soften)


1/2 cups of sugar PLUS 2 tablespoons


2 Large Eggs


1 teaspoon vanilla extract


3 Granny Smith Apples (Peeled, cored, finely chopped)


1/2 teaspoon ground cinammon


1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg


1/2 cup of caramel toppings


Preheat oven to 350 degrees, in a medium bowl, combine flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbley. Press evenly into a baking pan lined with aluminum foil. Bake for 15 minutes or until brown.


In a large bowl, beat cream cheese with 1/2 cup sugar in an electric mixture at medium speed till smooth. Then add eggs one at a time and vanilla stir to combine pour over warm crust.


In a small bowl stir together chopped apples, remaining sugar, cinammon and nutmeg. Spoon over cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle evenly with streutal topping. Bake for 30 mins or until filling is set. Drizzle with caramel topping.


Streutal Topping


1 cup brown sugar


1 cup all purpose flour


1/2 cup of cooking oats (oatmeal)


1 stick of butter
